Well........... I have been busy with phone calls lately and writing letters in respect to what has been happening with these anti social freaks!

Here is a letter I wrote, of course I have taken away any names so no one can harrass me about it!

Dear ************,

                                             My name is Julie and I reside at ****** *****, ********, we met in a meeting with ******* and my Dad was with me (Dave ***************).

I can’t say I am all too impressed with police at the moment! In fact I am very disappointed. You told me in that meeting that if I had a problem I could come to you, so here I am!

As you are aware we get hassle from ****** *******.

On Wednesday 14^th of June, Kurtis was outside at my Dad’s house (************) at around 18:50. ******** ********* turns up in a ****** ****** as a passenger. Kurtis saw them pull up but decided to look away and ignore him but ****** ******wasn’t satisfied about that and shouted something to make Kurtis look then said “I will smash your f***ing skull in” and then proceeded to say “you f***ing nonce”. I was told by my father that the lads looked as though they had been drinking and celebrating.

****** *******was 18 on this day so that is probably why they were drunk. Of course my Dad wrote down everything as soon as he could so it would be fresh in his mind. Incident number *******.

I take threats very seriously especially when its life threatening, I think someone saying they want to smash someone’s skull is a life threat. You may not think so but I do.

Unfortunately I wasn’t there at the time as I had taken my daughter  to a Karate lesson.  So I didn’t get to find out what had happened until I got back at around 7:30pm (*******). After speaking to my Dad, my brother and Kurtis, I went on home to ** ****** *******, *******.

When I got home I decided to phone the police straight away. And because of the way things have been with the police lately when I have phoned I decided to phone 999. I of course expected too much and the police never showed up. Nor did they phone to say they would be in touch. I phoned later on that evening to say I wasn’t happy about the whole thing and they took down my complaint.

I later found out that they had to respond to madness in *********, which I accepted but thought they still should have at least phoned!

The next day June 15^th (Thursday) I made more phone calls to the police about the whole thing. Sometime in the afternoon a Sergeant *** ********** called me to talk about the complaint I had made. He said he would send some police officers to come see Kurtis to take a statement to get the ball rolling and **** would deal with ***** ****** tomorrow (Friday June 16^th) as he will be on duty in **********  from 5 pm onwards. I was happy to hear things were finally moving until the two police men came! They came to take the statement and all was well until they said “since ****** ********* (PC **) deals with them, we will wait until he gets back to do so”.

***** ******** is on holiday!! They didn’t know when he would be back! How reassuring for us! NOT!

I can tell you I was disgraced at this decision. Why do we have to wait for something to be done about a scared 14 year old boy being threatened by an 18 year old (Adult)?

You are basically telling me that if I was to threaten ***** ******  in the same manner as he did to Kurtis then nothing would be done to me until the policeman who deals with it is back from holiday! I don’t think so! I bet if I was to actually threaten him the police would be here like yesterday!

Why does it have to be ONE policeman that deals with it? I am sure you have more than one police officer in the ********* station that knows **** ******  and our situation. Of course I wouldn’t expect you to ask **** ****** *********  to do it, as I would probably be waiting months on end for him to deal with it again.

While I am on the ****** ******* subject, I would also like to know why ***** didn’t want to take Kurtis’s statement. When we had that meeting you said you were going to find out for me and get back to me! He seemed to deal with that parking situation in ****** *** pretty swiftly! Since when are parking concerns more important than threats made to a school kid?

How do you expect us to have faith in the police authority? We wait and wait for things to happen and yet nothing gets done! ****** seems to get fines here and there! This was ok until he hit 18! I thought things would get tougher for him now he is an adult?

About these harassment notices I have against him, Are they still valid? What is the point in having these if ****** is still allowed to get away with everything!

My Mom and I are starting a group for the community against anti social behaviour. We are hoping to help the people that get harassed by anti social behaviour will get the confidence to take things further and get the help they need to do so. We are setting it up with the ************ & ************** . I have a meeting with ******** on Wednesday **********  in regard to it.

I would also like to ask a few questions about a meeting that *******  ******** attended with ******* ******* at the *********  & ********** ********** . I couldn’t attend that meeting unfortunately but got to hear of what had happened. According to this *********  we don’t have anti social behaviour problems in our area! And...... According to the records there have only been a few problems since 2001. Well I know for a fact that I have made several calls alone this year, Mom has made several and I know of a few that have also in fact done so. I would like to see these records of all the logged calls of anti social behaviour. Someone somewhere isn’t telling the truth. Even though things got out of hand with ********  **********  on that evening of December ***** , it did in fact start out as anti social behaviour didn’t it.

If things are going to change in respect to the anti social behaviour, then things need to be dealt with while the iron is hot! Not let things slip and then say “oh well it’s been too long now, shall we leave it incase it stirs things up again” like ******** ********** suggested!!! The reason the people who indulge in anti social behaviour is because nothing gets done in regard to it, the law has to give something to the victims of it doesn’t it?

New schemes keep coming out for these unruly teenagers and kids that are in trouble often. It seems as though the more unruly they are the more they get! What happens to the kids that do behave? How is the law going to encourage them to carry on behaving? Or does the law think they behave anyway so we need to concentrate on turning the unruly one’s around?

My son has never been a trouble maker and I doubt he ever will be. But he is in fact a VICTIM in all of this as all of us are. And with *******  ********* not being dealt with every time he does these things, he seems to think he can do or say anything to ANYONE!

It is difficult being a Mom having to watch my son be a victim of threatening behaviour. I often wonder if it will turn into anything more and I wonder if my will power to keep quiet will remain if they do in fact hurt him. You couldn’t blame me for turning if my son gets hurt now could you!

I tried phoning today to speak to someone about this, you weren’t available, ***** ******  (****) wasn’t available and Sergeant ***** *********  wasn’t available! Who does that leave for me to talk to? There is nobody in **************  to do anything until 5pm tonight!
